Monty Python Live (Mostly) At the O2 ONE DOWN FIVE TO GO

I was apprehensive about the show I actually enjoyed it !.Emerging from the doors of a giant

Victorian cut-out theatre, the five Pythons - Gilliam, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle and

Terry Jones entered to a roar of approval from the packed O2.The Lumberjack Song got the

biggest applause of the first half but the second half contained the vintage sketches,The

Albatross sketch, Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink,The Spanish Inquisition which I did expect ! and

The Dead Parrot Sketch - during which Palin and Cleese collapse into giggles which I think

was pre scripted.

Some of the funniest moments are seeing the ageing Pythons dressed as women and free

from political correctness. In between sketches there are clips from the television series as the

live action, especially those featuring the late Graham Chapman. And Terry Gilliam's surreal

graphics which are still very entertaining.Dressed up with big dance numbers it becomes a bit

of a sing along which as we all know is Idle's speciality.

What have The Pythons ever done for us? Well in most cases still making people laugh
