DONATION OF TAWNY OWL NESTING BOXES
The Great Storm of 1987 (the worst storm in 300 years) saw an estimated 15 million trees uprooted and countless more damaged. With the ever increasing pressure in Thanet on its loss of habitat from urbanisation, many areas that once had breeding birds such as the Tawny Owl are now lost.
With this in mind The Pegwell & District Association, along with the support of the Powell-Cotton Museum have installed 3 Owl Nesting Boxes at Quex Park to encourage Tawny Owls back to Thanet.
